Meet our Customer Advisory Board
My name is Scott Austin. I'm Senior Vice President of Operations for American Liberty Hospitality in Houston, Texas.
Tell us about your business and your typical guests
Yeah, so our typical properties are all branded and all based in Texas and Louisiana. And the majority of those are dual branded hotels. We've really found our niche in that. And we've needed a partner on the accounting side to really deal with those complexities. And Aptech’s been a great solution for that.
Which Aptech products do you use?
We actually use all of Aptech’s suite of services. So we use PVNG, we originally used Profitvue, we use Targetvue, and then we use the Business Intelligence Platform, Execuvue, really on a daily basis.
How has your experience been working with the Aptech Team?
So we've actually been with Aptech for 20 years and so we've kind of been able to grow and develop alongside them. And so I think some of the challenges along the way were being able to speed up onboarding our associates and all that was answered with PVNG's new services.
How is your experience training new employees?
I think the biggest thing that we really saw was coming out of the pandemic was the speed of being able to onboard associates and be able to train people that may not have had the skill set. And so especially in our corporate operations side. As we were able to bring people back online, some of them may not have had some of the accounting background a normal company would have. And the ability to get them up to speed very quickly and be able to actually have them performing in the in the services within—knowing less than two hours— has been a game changer for us from an onboarding standpoint. It's very intuitive, so it's it's been very easy onboard someone, whether it be a department head that needs assistance with learning the forecast modules, or really from a new GM, being able to really hit the ground running and be able to be out there with our guests. And so again, that two-hour window of being able to onboard, utilize the system, has really been a game changer for us.
How has your experience been working with the Aptech support team?
The best experience that team has always been their support. And so when you think about software, usually the support and the people side of it is not usually the first things that come into play. And it's been second to none. They're a partner that we really love doing business with. And it's been that way since day one. And so the ability to reach a person. Feel like they drop everything whenever we need anything whatsoever. It's been very refreshing and so our chairman always says, 'Life's too short to do business. We don't like.' On the support side, we really feel we're working with a family company that's like ours. The support team has been amazing. What we really liked is a lot of them become specialized in the different applications that we use. So we almost always know who to call on when we have a need, depending on what the 'what' the software needs is.
What’s the #1 thing that stands out about Aptech to you?
It's still absolutely the people. The people really are second to none.
Closing Thoughts
Yeah, I think with Aptech, you really are gaining a partner that it's not a vendor relationship. And so we're in the relationship business, not transactional. And we've always felt like we've had a relationship with everyone associated with Aptech. And then, y'all have kind of continued to meet our needs as y'all have kind of grown and evolved. It's been at a pace that we can keep up with.
